What is it? The residency is an opportunity for exchange, experimentation and reflection between local artists and guests; It takes place in the archipelago of Solentiname located south of the Great Lake of Nicaragua, also called Lake Cocibolca; Participants in the residency are invited to live within the community, thus opening up possibilities for exchange. In addition to working on their independent projects, it is suggested that artists give a lecture about their work and conduct a workshop with local artists and artisans. ¿Para quiénes es?
Artistas y curadores. ¿Cuándo Sucede? En fechas coordinadas con los interesados en cualquier momento del año. ¿Dónde se sitúa? Los hospedajes se encuentran alternadamente en cabañas en la comunidad histórica de la isla Mancarrón y en cabañas en la villa de artesanos y pintores de la isla Elvis Chavarría (San Fernando). ¿Cuánto cuesta? Nada, los gastos de alimentación y hospedaje corren por cuenta de la organización, eventualmente en dependencia de la distancia se discutiría la financiación del viaje de llegada a Nicaragua y Solentiname. ¿Cómo llego a Solentiname? Desde Nicaragua: Por tierra, la carretera hasta San Carlos comprende un recorrido de 300 km hacia el sureste de Managua bordeando el Gran Lago de Nicaragua, hay un transporte diario en lancha de San Carlos a Solentiname 3:00 pm (y de Solentiname a San Carlos 9:00 am); En San Carlos existe un aeropuerto que recibe vuelos locales dos veces por semana. En San Carlos también se pueden dejar vehículos seguros en el hangar de la portuaria. Desde Costa Rica: Por tierra, la carretera hasta Los Chiles comprende un recorrido de 170 km hacia el norte de San José, para luego tomar una lancha que conduce por el Río Frío hasta San Carlos en Nicaragua, es un viaje de aproximadamente una hora. ¿Qué tipo de proyecto proponer? Cualquier propuesta es bienvenida, pero se piensa también en proyectos afines a: medio ambiente, memoria histórica, arquitectura sostenible, género, cultura popular, experiencias comunitarias, arte relacional, arte y poesía, fotografía y antropología social. Cabins for lodging are available in the historic community of Mancarrón and alternatively, in the villa of artisans and painters on the island Elvis Chavarría (San Fernando). How much does it cost? Nothing, expenses for food and lodging are paid by the organization. Depending on distance, travel costs to Nicaragua and Solentiname can be discussed. How do i get to Solentiname?
